Mayumi does a lot of cooking and baking; here are
some of the recipes we like best... 1 Cup white flour 1 Cup whole wheat flour 1 Cup wheat bran 1/4 Cup brown sugar 1/4 Cup sugar 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon baking powder 2 eggs 1 2/3 Cups warm water 1/4 Cup margarine 1 teaspoon vanilla 3/4 Cup chopped walnuts 3/4 Cup chopped dried fruits (brandied fruit, if possible!) 1 Cup raisins Combine flours, sugar, and other dry ingredients in a large bowl. Measure warm water and margarine together in a 2-cup measuring cup; stir until margarine melts. Beat the eggs; add water and margarine mixture, then stir the liquids into the flour mixture. Add vanilla, nuts, and fruits; mix well. Pour batter into a greased loaf pan and bake at 375 for 60 minutes. (Cover the top with foil after 30 minutes if it gets too brown.) Makes 10 - 12 servings. (Especially good when served warm, with home-made rum-raisin ice cream!) 1 3/4 cup milk 3/4 cup Cool Whip 3 tsp. sugar 1/2 cup raisins soaked in rum Mix ingredients and freeze in Donvier ice cream maker. ![]() Mexican Spoon Bread (One of our family's favorite foods!!) If you like spicy, add fresh jalapeno or pepperocini.
If you like mild, add 1 small can 1 can cream corn Mix well and sandwich cheese and peppers between layers
of batter. (Batter will be runny; (This must be a very healthy meal... Also you can use any
kind of pasta instead of rice, but if you 3 cups cooked rice 1/2 cup chopped celery Sprinkle the chopped vegetables on the rice plate, then
think of a color and make your 1/3 cup water 1) Mix sugar and water well, using a pot on the stove. (Don't

Muffins 2 cups flour Pour into muffin cups, filling each 2/3 full. Bake 10 to 15 minutes at 400 degrees. Cream
cheese pound cake 8 oz. cream cheese Cream butter, cream cheese, sugar. Add salt, vanila, and
blend well. Add eggs, one at a time. Cabbage
